Phantom has a rare sense of scale and occasion that makes it a truly modern interpretation of the luxury motor car. It is a car with genuine presence, created by its classic Rolls-Royce proportions combined with contemporary design and unrivalled engineering. It's an experience that touches all the senses: the feel and aroma of wide expanses of soft leather upholstery, the beauty of the book-matched veneer, created from a single tree that runs like a story throughout the interior. With deep, pure Blenheim wool carpets underfoot and an air of privacy created by the large C-pillars, Phantom is the ultimate in comfort. The flat floor leaves plenty of space to stretch out and, if you'd like even more legroom, you'll find an extra 250mm in the Phantom Extended Wheelbase. Each Phantom is hand-built to order, it's a simple but inspiring process that starts with your choice of exterior color, leather upholstery to complement it, veneer and 21 inch wheels.

Leather:
Each interior requires eleven hides from the same batch that are carefully prepared to ensure consistency of color throughout. Every millimeter of the 55 meters of soft full-grain leather is inspected by eye to make sure there are no imperfections.

Veneer:
Beautiful wood in its most natural form adds a simple but striking finishing touch to the interior of Phantom. There is 10m2 of wood in 35 different parts, each made up of 29 layers of wood, foil and aluminum for strength and safety. "I look for burrs and complex grains that add interest," says Dan Austin, Veneer Specialist.
Choose from a palette that includes burrs and straight grains including walnut, mahogany, elm and santos palissander. Whichever you select, each piece will be carefully book-matched to ensure a flawless finish throughout.
Crossbanding is another technique employed by our craftspeople They skillfully combine contrasting veneers and fine inlayed boxwood beading to create a distinctive alternative to our single veneer finish. It's a painstaking process that can take up to a month to complete.

Wheels:
Each wheel features unique self-righting wheel hubs that always display the Rolls-Royce monogram the right way up. It's a prime example of the close attention we give to the simplest details that make our cars so special.

Coachlining:
It takes Mark Court, our highly skilled coachline painter, three hours (and a very steady hand) to paint a single five-meter long line on a Phantom. To create a line so precise he uses special 3mm wide brushes made from squirrel and ox hair.

Theatre Configuration:
Watch TV or a DVD on two high quality 12 inch screens that fold flat into the backs of the front seats.
